Harlie Caster Women's Volleyball - Defensive Finlandia Norway MI (Norway HS) Caster, a senior libero, had a stong four matches for the Lions at the Mount Mary Invitational. She averaged 4.43 digs per set and had double-digits in all four matches. Caster had a career-high 21 digs versus Holy Family (Oct. 25).
Andree Hernandez-Garcia Men's Soccer - Offensive Pine Manor San Antonio TX (Tom C. Clark HS) Hernandez-Garcia, a junior midfielder, had a huge week scoring two game-winning goals for the Gators as the team went 2-0 for the week. Hernandez excellent in both matches providing the opening assist against Westfield State on a great through pass then burying the game-winner in the second half from 25 yards out that was so well placed the opposing goalkeeper did not move as the shot hit off the post and went in. On Saturday, Hernandez was on top of his game again netting the game's second goal on a header off a corner kick that proved to be the winner then killing the game off in the second half with a long breakaway with a finish in the box that made the score, 3-0. For the week, Hernandez had three goals, one assist, seven points and helped the Gators to an 11-2-2 record.
Braedyn Hurd Women's Volleyball - Offensive Finlandia Woodland WA (Woodland HS) Hurd, a first year outside hitter, had a monster weekend for the Lions. She had 3.64 kills per set while hitting .557 (51k-7e-79ta). Hurd had double-digit kills against Holy Family (Oct. 25), Dayspring Bible (Oct. 25) and Mount Mary (Oct. 26). She added 10 solo blocks for the weekend with six against the Blue Angels.
Jake King Men's Soccer - Defensive Wisconsin-Whitewater McHenry IL (McHenry West HS) King, a sophomore goalkeeper, recorded his seventh shutout of the season Friday in the Warhawks' 2-0 victory over Wartburg (Iowa) at Fiskum Field. He tied his season high with nine saves in the contest and lowered his season goals against average to 0.70. King also made nine saves earlier in the week at No. 19 North Park (Ill.), a 2-1 loss, and finished the week having played all 180 minutes of UW-W's two matches.
Daisia Knowles Women's Soccer - Defensive Finlandia Broomfield CO (Broomfield HS) Knowles, a sophomore defender, had a strong week for the Lions. She scored the game-winning goal in a 7-0 win over Mount Mary (Oct. 27). Defensively, Knowles had numerous takeaways and help limit the Blue Angels to just three shots for the contest.
Akwasi Kwarteng Men's Soccer - Offensive Finlandia Accra Ghana (Timpview HS (UT)) Kwarteng, a first year forward, had a strong week for the Lions. He scored all three goals in a 3-1 win over Crown (Oct. 21). It was the first career hat trick for Kwarteng and the first for Finlandia since Sept. 30, 2016.
Kristen L'Esperance Women's Soccer - Offense Finlandia Brighton MI (Brighton HS) L'Esperance, a senior midfielder, had a monster performance for Finlandia. Against Mount Mary (Oct. 27), she finished with a goal and six assists. L'Esperance had a hand in every goal and her six assists breaks the school record and is the most in a game in all three NCAA Divisions this season.
